Hi my name is Bianca I’m one of the two people that will be posting stuff on this blog. The next person is my best friend of 12 years, Lovern! So welcome to our blog!! It all started a year ago with an idea. We both decided to start a project that we both can do together, that we both like to do and would fit in both of our busy schedule. We love fashion related stuff, food, cute stuff and more, so we asked ourselves how can we put all these things in common and make something out of it. First we thought YouTube but my best friend isn’t as comfortable as I am speaking on camera. So then I was like well since we both have tumblrs and love it why not make our own blog where we can post all kinds of stuff and both be comfortable doing it. My best friend agreed to it with so much enthusiasm. But like I said we were both busy and couldn't take the time to start. But summer 2013 we said this is it, were going to start and here we are! Healthy life





Don’t be fooled

So I’m sure we've all seen those commercials where you can take 1 pill a day and BAM in a few weeks you've shed weight and even manage to get some abs!! I’m sorry but that’s a load of BS to me. Okay, okay, so I haven’t tried the pills but you can’t tell me that they are making people go from say 300 lbs to 140 lbs?!?! That’s just way too ridiculous, unrealistic and very unhealthy to me. Of course it’s an advertisement and people scam their way at the expense of desperate and lazy (not all) people and it’s pretty sad but it works because they are making money off of them. Now if we can just take the time to realise that getting healthy and staying so is a lot of work and dedication, maybe then people can stop pilling up on those useless weight loss pills. To be honest we don’t even know the side effects to using them... Also if they were sooo effective wouldn't gyms and personal trainers be out of business??? Last time I checked, people still went to the gym ....I wonder why...? -__-‘’




Dieting or pass?

Now I’m no specialist in the health department but I’m not stupid either, anything you want in life you have to work hard for it and there’s no two way about it. That also goes for your health as well. Now I’m no fan of dieting because to me it never made any sense. I love food waaay to much to do it but personally it’s all about eating in moderation. Don’t go overboard with the things you love to eat. Now I don’t eat junk food all day everyday but it’s not a crime if I decide to have a burger every now and again just as long as I’m not eating it every single day along with other junk foods. Eat your fave food in moderation (if they are not on the healthier side) and have more fruits and veggies every day. Now if you can’t seem to stop the junk food then it’s a lack of discipline you need to work on and controlling your cravings. Like I said..it’s all hard work but it WILL pay off. Here is an interesting chart I found about cravings and what you really need when you do start to crave junk food.






Good = Good & Bad = Bad...Duh!

Now again I’m not a specialist but it just makes sense to eat clean and healthier food, drink a lot of water, do simple exercises and have some good sleep. I can guarantee that your mood will change and your body will feel better. This is how I see it:
  •          Eating healthy = No bloated feelings, less tired, less hungry (believe it or not)
  •          Drinking water = energy gained, good for hair and skin, feel hydrated
  •          Exercise = body feels good, lose weight, sleep better, less tired, less depressed
  •        Sleep well = mood is better, you feel better, look better, happier

As opposed to..

  •          Eating junk food = you feel stuffed, more tired, weight gain
  •          Drinking fructose juice & soft drinks = gassy feeling, too much sugar for nothing
  •          Hardly exercising = feel tired, weak, bored, depressed, down, lack of energy
  •          Lack of sleep = cranky mood, body ache, even more tired, no concentration

Of course there are more reasons for each point but I simply named a few. All in all what you put in your body and what you do to it will show up eventually. You put bad things in it and you will produce bad results and if you put good, you’ll get good results.




 Get to know how your body works

Get to know your body and by that I mean not everyone will produce the same results or as fast as they would like to. For example one person can eat a salad and probably lose more weight than if you had eaten a salad. Now it may be aggravating but it’s not a reason to quit. Yes in life some people have to work harder to be healthy than others but so what; their battle is not the same as yours and yours is not theirs. At the end of the day it’s not a race and the important thing is that you are one step closer to being a better you. So maybe salad does not only work for you, maybe you have to exercise more or maybe you gain weight fast whatever the reason is,  as long as you do what you need to do there is no way you won’t get the results you want unless you quit. So take the time to learn what works best for your body and don’t concentrate on others because we are all different.



Healthy foods CAN be delicious

So for people who think that eating healthy is like eating grass well you can surf the web for some delicious recipes with plenty of fresh and healthy ingredients. Eating clean does not have to be a torturous journey. Start by gathering the fruits and vegetables that you actually like and start making something out of them that you would enjoy. Now drinking a lot of water is important but if you don’t like tasteless drinks then there are ways to ‘’jazz up’’ your water also there are plenty of fruit smoothies you can make as well. So don’t just assume that everything lean and green taste like crap because there are so many different types of good food that you have never thought would taste good and also be good for you.. so it’s win-win situation yeaaah!  Eventually you won’t feel the need to eat junk anymore because you would feel much better eating what’s best for you..it’s just takes an open mind and motivation. Don’t be so quick to shut something down without trying it especially if it’s good for your health.

No time or money for gym? No worries

So some excuses people use for not being able to do some exercise are: no money, no time, too busy, no gym close by etc etc. But you can actually take at least 5 mins out your day to do a couple of jumping jacks, some push ups, squats or crunches etc. They may be hard to do at first because your body is not used to that kind of physical work yet but keep at it and you’d be able to get more stamina and start to do more in the near future. That’s one of the great things in life is that you get better with practice so when you keep at it, you’ll start to see that you’re able to do more things compared to when you first started. You can start by doing like 20 crunches before going to bed and another 20 in the morning. Eventually you can add 5 to 10 more if you feel comfortable doing so. It’s all about how you deal with it, if you really wanted to do something you’d find a way instead of finding excuses.






 Finally these are just my opinion on a healthy lifestyle. It just makes sense to me to do what people have been doing for years to stay fit and active instead of using a quick fix get fit pill. I just don’t see how one small thing can do all that while you still can eat all the crap you want...something does not sound right. So I say stay away from it and stick to what you know because you’re definitely smarter than that. If you really feel the need to try one then at least do a complete research on it and use it at your own risk. At the end of the day hard work and dedication always pays off.

P.S. I forgot to mention of course that motivation plays a big part in staying healthy. People can motivate you and it helps a lot but if no one is motivating you, then you motivate yourself because it's YOUR body and you deserve to keep it in good shape for a better life. So here are some ways to get motivated on your own because people are not always going to be around to push you:

Has Virginity Become A Taboo subject?

Are generation has lost  value in a women's virtue.

 

So let me start by pointing out I personally do not care if a women chooses to lose or keep her virginity , that decision is for her to take .But me being a virgin , I feel that are generation puts a lot of pressure on ''sex''. I remember the days when women took pride in saying their still virgins and they were waiting for ''the one'' or until they got married. Me personally , I don't necessarily  want to wait until marriage I just want to be ready and make sure that the person loves and respects me for who I am. And how do you know when someone is ''the one'' anyways ? By his words,actions or miss leading gestures? Those too can be deceiving. And ''the one'' is only in  your imagination . He's the one you would want him to be.


Last time I heard 12 & 13 year old were having sex. Their vagina isn't even properly formed yet.  I remember my mom used to say those girls need to learn how to wash their underwear properly before having sex ! Some of you may or may not know but a women's vagina is matured and properly develop at the age of 18. (And yes there can be special cases) At 13 years old I was thinking about winning my Basket-Ball regionals , not about condoms ,birth control or  any of that crap. I was being a kid and doing things that kids do at that age. Again I blame society , putting sex everywhere because it sells and it's appealing .

And ladies if you are in a relationship where your partner isn't a virgin and you are then you are going to have a real rocky start. Because if a man tells you ''oh it's no problem , you being a virgin and all I can wait don't worry'' THAT'S A LIE! Truust mee!!!! It's going to cause a lot of issues and problems in the relationship. You not knowing the feeling of penetration and all that can't crave something you've never had or experienced . But for him who has already tasted the waters . Hmmm.. A man is a preditor always ready to hunt! Just remember that.

Another thing I don't understand is that  some guys  say they wanna marry a virgin but yet they can't date one for a long period without having sex? It's like when the going get tough they didn't realize it's  would of been that hard not having sex for 2-3 years. And yes some men that can't wait on their partner well they go get it from someone else who's willing to give them , and honestly I find that very sad . Then I guess you didn't love and respect me enough to wait because  you went and got it from  some sleaze, who you clearly don't know her previous intime background  then you think your going to bring you're nastiness in me? HA! 


Girls we need too have some strong will power in order to keep are values & beliefs in this world. And I know there some strong women out there and I have mad respect for y'all.  I've been dating the same guy for the past 5 years on and off. And trust me it's been causing so much issues. But I'm determined to lose my virginity when I will be ready not because HE is pressuring me.  And I have to say I've been very lucky in that department. If a man loves you and cherishes you then he'll respect  you enough to wait. I know my goodies are delicious and I can brag about them .  Some people agree with my decision and some others think I'm crazy to have kept it from him for so long . Can you believe that? It's like he was a  dog doing a good deed and now I was going to give him a treat. And honestly I don't care what anybody else thinks ,I'm proud  being a virgin. There's nothing wrong with me . I'm not gonna sit here and tell you guys oh well I've never been curious or get urges to do stuff because that would be a lie . I just control my urges and know when to stop them. Because at the end of the day I don't want to regret it. Even if me and the person aren't together I can look back on my life 10 years from now and I can say I was blessed to have lost it to someone who loved and cherished me.

Everything sweet!


❤ Sweet Tooth

Like every other human being in this world , I have my weaknesses. Some people gamble, and others are shopaholics. My weakness is kinda on the sweet side . Yes, I have a major sweet tooth. Especially , when my cravings are adorable and cute , its a bonus.

Who doesn't like once in a while having a chocolate bar here and there .There's nothing wrong with that ..right ?  Well I don't think there is . So yesterday for some strange  reason I was craving muffins. But not your simple,ordinary muffin. With extra filling cream inside . I remember a while back I was doing a project and we all gathered at one of my friends house , and one of my teamates brought these muffins that he bought near her house. And they were so delicious I kinda felt bad eating 2 . So then yesterday I went to the store and found them! They weren't the same flavor as the one he had but hey a muffin is a muffin.

They were soo goood! It really tasted like a chocolate cake with a decadent white , creamy filling! Yuup I was a little piggy who went to the market. Anyways just a little tip for people who also have a sweet tooth like me . When you have a small craving try to tend to it right away. Because I realized that sometimes when I put my craving  on stand by, it gets bigger and bigger and at a point I'm eating twice as much just because I kinda neglected it. So whenever you feel like being a little peckish or whatever just tend to it right away so you don't feel overwhelmed and eat twice as  much.

Lana Del Rey

Okay so I just had to post something about this woman. I was going crazy on my best friend about how much I loved her songs and lyrics. I mean honestly I haven’t been listening to her songs enough and I regret it because I see now what I've been missing out on. It all started when I first heard “Dark paradise” by her and I was hooked. From there I went on to more of her songs and I was in wonderland for hours lol. Lana is amazing, her songs all have a story and that’s what I love. Whether they are perhaps about her personal experiences in life or a made up stories you can somehow relate to them in some way. And of course let’s not forget about that voice. Honestly I don’t know if anyone would be able to cover her songs and sound as good as she does.  I also love how she has an old fashioned mixed with some dope styles in her looks. She’s different and it’s a breath of fresh air. She reminds me a bit of a Marilyn Monroe in today’s world the way her songs talks about love and broken hearts, being young, wild and free, beauty, sadness, stolen moments of happiness etc. You get so much out of them. I personally think she’s one of the many artists who get music and the art of it. Don’t get me wrong there’s nothing wrong with all the other songs out there but sometimes they get so repetitive and it gets annoying. I just love her now and as long as she stays authentic to herself I believe I’ll be fan for a very long time. Keep making great music Lana!!

Society has always been good at playing with each-others mind set on defying what is and isn't pretty, or what should be accepted . Me being a size 18 CAD knows that. But it's kind of funny because people put me in a category within the plus size categories and that is ,''thick''. Some say that there is a difference between ''Thick'' and ''Fat''. To some people Thick is the shape of an hour glass ,like  Kim Kardasian . To others ''fat'' is someone who has more of a round shape, for example , Gabourey Sidibe ( who played in the movie Precious). Why is that ? For some reason being thick is more acceptable in the plus size world then being fat.



 In the past 5 years, my body has changed dramatically . I remember the days when I use to be a size 11 in jeans. And I'm not blaming anyone other than myself. I let myself get carried away for multiple reason. Some are justifiable  and some aren't. And I acknowledge that but even 10 ,20 or 100 pounds more no one else should have the right to tell me what is and isn't beautiful.


 As the years went by I saw how difficult it was to find affordable, cute clothes. I think when designers design plus size they think , old granny drapes! Not even my grandmother would put those on just because of how ugly they look . Like c'mon I know we got a bit more meat but y'all be exaggerating. It got to me at a point when my friends and I went shopping and I never used to find that many clothes because it was made for flat chested and none for curvy women. And it use to hurt me. Like I said USED TOO. I've learned to accept who the new me is and to embrace it. I still would like to lose some weight but not for society or my family or friends. But for the person I have to live with everyday...Myself.


I guess all this was to say,YOU know who you are. And YOU should rock your body they way YOU feel is right. Because at the end of the day society isn't living your life. There just on the outside looking at you.

Favorite products



So it's summer and everyone loves to smell good. I'm not a big fan of strong smelling perfume because it makes me nauseous () and let's face it, flies or maybe even bees will not leave you alone. During this season I love anything with a fruity or sweet smell. So these are some of the products I have been loving and using during this time:


As you can probably see I'm a big fan of Bath&BodyWorks products (). They have everything for everyone and most of their product smell so good. I love going to that store for everything from creams to body wash to candles (I will post up my favorite candles scents soon) etc. All in all I personally think it's an awesome store and you should check it out ().

This first product is 'Baby Lips' by Mabeline. I purchased this lip balm at a drug store and it was a bit on the pricier side (4.99$ I believe ()) but since most people seem to like I decide to try it out. I thought that it was an okay product because although it moisturizes your lips, they would feel dry 5 minutes later (). I found myself having to re-apply the lip balm at least 100x a day. But one thing I will say is that it worked well for me when I would apply lipstick over it. My lips did not feel dry as before.

Now these body cream are awesome. I purchased them from Bath & Body Works and they not only make you smell delicious lol but they moisturize your body very. They cost about 12.50$ but they usually have sales where you can get 3 for 30$. They always have sales so you end up saving money every time (). The Wild berry tulips smells of course like berries; the Sea island cotton smells (to me) like fresh linen, its very soft; and the Pink chiffon (misspelled it in the pic sorry ())  to me smells like flowers. Now I'm not much of a fan of flower scented anything () but this (Pink chiffon) one is bearable and I'd put it on because it smells pretty good. Also the scent lasts the whole day so you don't even need to put on perfume.

Now these hand creams are from B&BW as well. I purchased these at the cashier for 1$. They bring these little bottles out before selling the bigger bottles so you can pretty much try it out then if you liked it you'd be able to get the bigger bottle when it comes out. These are great hand creams and of course they smell very good. I personally prefer the Dolce berry cream (purple one) because I love the berry scented smell compared to the Berry flirt (athough that one is berry scented too ()). Ahhh so much berries I know but I couldn't help it. Their worth the buy..if you like berries of course or any fruity scents.

Last but not least is the Candy sweet perfume. This I purchased at Sirens. They had a whole bunch of perfume they were selling for 5$. Now of course they are cheap perfumes but this one smelled very nice and sweet. And because it is cheap, the scent does not last the whole day () unfortunately so you'd have to keep re-applying it. But I don't mind it. Normally cheap perfumes has more of an alcohol scent than what it's suppose to smell like but this one you don't get that smell so I was happy. I believe it was worth the buy since I don't always save up to buy much perfume ().
